Jamie Drake’s Rental

The New York Times has profiled decorator Jamie Drake’s temporary New York digs and I can’t get enough of his trademark pops of color.  Drake’s tips on decorating speedily are to “shop at home, including other people’s, use lots of color, and reupholster judiciously.”  Having lived from rental to rental for many years I so appreciate Drake’s attempt to make the temporary apartment home.  Some items such as the Pedro Friedeberg hand chair came from Drake’s previous apartment, while other furnishings were taken from his room at the Kips Bay Showhouse or pulled from storage.  The walls behind the beds were painted with Benjamin Moore’s Forest Moss and royal blue—such statements!  Above, Drake pictured with his fifteen-year-old pug, Dillon.  What a handsome pair!  Read the full article HERE >>>
