Timeless Blooms

Picture 40

Would you believe me if I told you none of these stunning bouquets would ever wilt?  It’s true!  Now I’m a fan of fresh blooms, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes when a client simply doesn’t have the time required to constantly purchase and nurture fresh flowers you need to look into other options.  That’s where Diane James Home comes in.  Her faux floral arrangements are so believably real in appearance they are the go-to source for top designers such as Michael Smith, Celerie Kemble, Mario Buatta, and many more.  Diane studied floral techniques under Lady Pulbrook, “the doyenne of English design,” while living in Europe and eventually began using faux flowers in the 1990’s as a solution for clients’ vacation homes.  Brilliant right?  For a black thumb like myself, it’s true love.

The Rolodex Gone Chic

foto_address2

You all left amazing suggetions yesterday for my new home office—I can’t thank you enough!  I had to share one in particular, however, that I think will make your heart flutter.  The darling Sarah of Going Star Fishing recommended this vintage inspired rolodex by Lovely Design. It’s available in walnut or mahogany and is entirely hand-crafted!  I mean really—how cute are the recycled papers that go inside?  I’m absolutely smitten.  Thank you Sarah!

If only…

Right now I am wishing with all my heart I had a spare $500 and could snatch up one of the 14 remaining editions of this print on 20×200.  I’m obsessed, I swear it made my heart skip three whole beats…  It’s by French photographer Christian Chaze and it would look oh so very stunning on my wall.  Weepy sigh…

P.S. Thanks to lovely Anna at the Quilted Giraffe for introducing me to this amazing site!

Real Women + J.Crew

Picture 35

The new J.Crew catalog features nine everyday women (“friends, associates, and acquaintances”) with inspiring style and enviable wardrobes.  I’m loving these three shots in particular.  At top is Molly Carey, a designer for J.Crew.  Isn’t she gorgeous???  Love the hair, love the lipstick, love the necklace…sigh.  Second, is talented interior designer Celerie Kemble and last, but not least is Lily Koppel, darling author of the seemingly wonderful The Red Leather Diary. If her book is half as cute as she is I simply must read it!
