I love accessorizing with embroidered cocktail napkins and Etsy is my favorite place to find them. They’re functional (no stains of our coffee table) and chic. Many designs allow you to pick from a variety of linen and thread colors, and some even offer multiple monogram styles from which to choose. Below, are over 40 awesome napkins available now. They make for great gifts with such a personal touch. I hope you find a set you love! READ POST
Custom upholstery is a big investment, but thanks to the folks at Liven Up Design, gorgeous handcrafted furnishings are more accessible than ever. The family-owned, California-based Etsy shop builds an impressive array of custom furniture and ships across the United States. From lavish upholstered daybeds to chic grasscloth tables, it’s no surprise the shop counts some of the country’s most accomplished decorators as clients. On the top of my wish list? One of these custom curved headboards for our Copenhagen bedroom. Explore my favorite Liven Up Design pieces below and view their full collection here.
This past fall, Simon and I began hosting lots of little dinner parties (many of the Danes and fellow expats in his office have become dear friends…) and the small soirées have quickly become my favorite thing. Fun conversation, flattering candlelight, flowing wine…what’s not to love? I still haven’t caught the cooking bug, but these lively gatherings do have me ridiculously excited about table settings. One of my new favorite sources is the Philadelphia-based shop, Flora Poste Studio. Artisan Kendra Lebo makes and sells the loveliest shibori and ombré dyed textiles. I’m coveting a set of the shibori dinner napkins in every hue. Explore all of Flora Poste Studio’s gorgeous collection here.
One of the highlights of my recent trip to Marrakech (city guide coming soon!) was shopping for Moroccan rugs. After much debate (and mint tea!), I wound up buying two beautiful beni ourain rugs from my new friend Salim at Fine Moroccan Rugs. I had been admiring his Etsy shop for months (boucherouites, azilals, beni ourain, and more!) and was delighted to learn he sold his rugs in person in Marrakech’s charming carpet souk. During the call to prayer, we climbed to the rooftop of his shop, where he photographs and washes the gorgeous carpets, so I could view magical Marrakech from above. Salim recently added a bunch of new beauties to his Etsy shop (he ships worldwide) and I’m trying to resist buying more. Below are some of my new favorites from Salim and his father’s wonderful selection. You can explore their full moroccan rug collection here.
Much to my husband’s dismay, one of my favorite things to peruse on Etsy are vintage diamond rings. Nevermind my engagement and wedding bands—I have 9 other fingers, right?! There are so many stunning, old designs available from antique shops all over the world and in this post I’ve rounded up some of my very favorites. Lately, I’m particularly fond of romantic old Georgian pieces (circa 1714-1837), but on Etsy you can find just about everything. Enjoy!
Looking for a one-of-a-kind gift this holiday season? I’m hoping Santa brings a vintage signet ring from the New Hampshire-based Etsy shop, M.S. Jewelers. Perfect for the pinky finger, I’d feel as chic as Princess Diana sporting one of these beauties (she cooly paired hers with a Cartier trinity ring). If you can’t find the desired monogram, they also sell several unengraved options. Explore the full collection here. READ POST
