Officine Universelle Buly 1803, Paris

Another Paris boutique I look forward to visiting this week? Officine Universelle Buly. Though the French beauty brand was technically founded in 1803, its rebirth occurred just three years ago–the mastermind of husband and wife team Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami (also the man behind Cire Trudon). Touhami recently quipped to the New York Times that luxury is “calligraphy, fine food, beautiful décor, authentic details and working with artisans.” He added that it has “one foot in the past and one foot in the future.” I couldn’t agree more. With its striking packaging and beautifully decorated boutiques, the brand has quickly won fans worldwide (and makes for the loveliest gifts!). They’ve recently opened a second Paris location nearby our hotel in the Marais that I look forward to checking out. Below, explore more of the Officine Universelle Buly chicness which you can shop online at Bergdorf Goodman and Net-A-Porter. We depart for Paris early tomorrow morning, and as always, you can follow my adventures on instagram. READ POST

A Bloomsbury Flat by Beata Heuman

As part of The New British Style collaboration between Farrow & Ball and House & Garden, London-based interior designer Beata Heauman made over the bedroom of editor Emily Senior. The result? This charming space brimming with color and whimsy. I’m crazy about the Charleston House inspired wardrobe, Hugo Guinness artwork, Bridie Hall greek decoupage, and that darling ruffled chair skirt. The marbleized velvet cushion on the chair is Beata’s own design and can be purchased here. It’s also available as a wallpaper (saved to my “dream home” file!). Explore more of the inspiring space below. READ POST

IVF Heartbreak, Take Four

I hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend. Sadly, ours was one of heartache. In early August, Simon and I decided that we were ready to restart fertility treatment. Three months had passed since my miscarriage and I was feeling emotionally and physically ready to begin again. IVF is, as I’ve mentioned before, far more affordable in Denmark than it is in the States, so though we’d previously planned to take a longer break, while we’re living abroad I wanted to keep the ball rolling. So, last month we did a fresh round of IVF (the shots, the acupuncture, the whole shebang). READ POST

Cece Thompson’s Home on One Kings Lane

Interior designer CeCe Barfield Thompson has been featured yet again (see also here and here) and I had to share it with you. One Kings Lane recently published the beautiful Gramercy Park abode and I love seeing the space from a new angle. Her daughter’s chinoiserie-filled room is a particular highlight—have you ever seen a chicer kid’s space?! Below, explore more of the sophisticated abode and shop the look here. READ POST

The Best 4th of July Online Sales

I hope you all have sunny plans for the Fourth of July weekend! Though it’s obviously not celebrated here in Denmark, I’ll be feeling festive in spirit. Simon is spending the holiday with my family in California and they’ve promised to FaceTime me during their sunset cocktail hour overlooking the vineyards (rough life!). Earlier this week, he took my Grandma Rita to breakfast at the Fairmont in San Francisco and they sent me a selfie (the cutest). Saturday I’ll be catching up with my awesome friend Dru from West Elm who is visiting from New York, and Sunday with my friends Porter and Hollister Hovey also in town from the Big Apple. Would love to hear about your holiday plans! Should you find some time for a bit of online shopping, I’ve included links to some of the best Fourth of July sales below. I’ll also be posting throughout the weekend, should you be in need of a little neo-traditional lift. Happy Fourth! READ POST
