William McClure’s Birmingham Loft

Alabama-based interior designer William McClure has moved house and I’m rather smitten with his new digs. Remember the traditional bones of his previous place…? Well, William’s new home is a modern loft that he’s given a serious makeover. I’m loving the industrial architecture paired with the designer’s eclectic mix of antique and vintage furniture and accessories. William often shares photos of his artwork as well (he’s an accomplished painter) and I can’t help but covet the large scale canvases hung throughout the loft. Below, thanks to photos from his lovely instagram account, you can explore more of William’s new abode (and meet his darling new Weimaraner pup!). READ POST

The Daily Hunt

Saffi Washable Rug, $249

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. We had friends over for dinner (an Englishman and his sweet Dutch girlfriend #expatlife) and I met a friend in from New York for a delicious al fresco brunch. Simon and I also started season five of House of Cards…are you watching? So addictive! Tomorrow, I’m headed to Brighton on the south coast of England for a little getaway. I’m looking forward to relaxing at the Brighton Harbour Hotel and visiting the Royal Pavilion and Charleston House (of Bloomsbury Group fame—this book sits on my desk as I type). As always, you can follow along on instagram. Below, some fun finds for your Monday. Enjoy!

Long Island’s Woody House

This cozy oasis on Long Island from the latest issue of Architectural Digest instantly captured my attention. The bohemian home is nestled in a beach dune a stone’s throw from the water and I love how its lively interior reflects the owners’ worldly adventures. The husband is an avid painter and his watercolors (painted during trips to Tunisia, India, Eygypt and more) are showcased throughout the home. What I wouldn’t give for a house filled with so many foreign treasures and fearless patterns! Below, explore more of the Long Island jewel box. READ POST

Gem Palace Mumbai

If you enjoyed my posts on Bar Palladio, Caffe Palladio, and the Jaipur abode of designer Marie Anne Oudejans, then this one is for you. Visitors to Mumbai can now enjoy the extravagant jewels and sumptuous interiors of the legendary Gem Palace in Jaipur. The new outpost was designed by my favorite Marie Anne Oudejans and its emerald green interior has me dreaming of an Indian Oz. Now I’m naturally wishing our October trip to India included Mumbai! I suppose I’ll just have to plan a second Indian adventure. Enjoy the dreamy photos below! READ POST
