We sent Matchbook’s July issue live this morning and I am so proud of our little team! One of my favorite pieces to work on was the Georgia O’Keeffe “Kindred Spirit” pictured above. She was such a fascinating woman and and I had such fun imagining what treasures she might have had. I think I may order that stunning photo of her hands shot by her husband Alfred Stieglitz. I love that he photographed her endlessly — oh to be someone’s muse! I hope you enjoy the issue.
Fiona Apple’s new album is brilliant. Have you been listening? I had it on repeat on the flight home from New York and think the third track “Valentine” is my favorite. “I’m amorous but out of reach / A still life drawing of a peach.”
I fly to New York on Sunday and am so looking forward to catching some exhibits while in town. I’m particularly eager to see the Ellsworth Kelly drawings at the Met and Avedon murals at the Gagosian. Do let me know of any other exhibits you’d recommend!
P.S. This is so silly, but I always find an excuse to buy the exhibit book. Do you? It makes for the best souvenir :)
